The Indian exhibition and events industry is projected to grow from ₹14,000 crore in 2024 to ₹22,000 crore by 2028 — a 14% CAGR that outpaces most comparable service industries. Here's where the growth is concentrated.

Infrastructure driving demand

IICC Phase 1 in Greater Noida has added 1.1 million sq ft of world-class exhibition space. Yashobhoomi in Dwarka completes in 2025. BEC Mumbai has expanded Hall 7. The constraint of exhibition space that dampened India's event calendar in 2019–22 is structurally resolved. More shows, bigger footprints, more projects.

Sectors growing fastest

Automotive (Bharat Mobility replacing Auto Expo as India's flagship show), pharma and healthcare (CPhI India, Medika India growing 30%+ YoY), renewable energy (REI Expo, InterSolar India), and government/PSU pavilions (state government investment shows proliferating across Tier 2 cities).

International exhibitor growth

India is seeing a 40% increase in international brands choosing to exhibit here — primarily in technology, manufacturing, and defence sectors. This is driving demand for international-standard booth builds and on-site logistics coordination that matches global show requirements.

What this means for your exhibiting strategy

Competition for exhibition space and skilled booth contractors is intensifying. The exhibitors who are winning — in terms of on-floor attention and post-show leads — are those who booked their contractor 3–4 months ahead, not 4 weeks. The "book late and scramble" approach that was common pre-2020 is no longer viable in 2024–25. See our complete 2025 exhibition calendar to plan ahead, or get a quote for your next show.
